On our palliative ward we treat patients who suffer from severe, debilitating symptoms as their disease progresses. The focus of medical, nursing and psychological care is on alleviating the physical complaints as far as possible, but also psychological ailments such as anxiety or depression.
Our team includes palliative care physicians, therapists, palliative care nurses, pastors and psycho-oncologists. Relatives also find help in the psychological, social and spiritual areas within the scope of comprehensive support.
After their stay, many of our patients want to spend the rest of their lives in their familiar surroundings as far as possible. If necessary, we facilitate contacts to specialized outpatient palliative care (SAPV) or a hospice.
Our ward has 14 single and double rooms and is separated from the other wards. It is characterized by a special individual and elaborate furnishing, which also includes a "Room of Tranquility". As part of our consultation service, we look after patients from other wards who require palliative medical care on a daily basis.
