Spinal therapy

The causes for back pain are so diverse that a wide range of medical expertise and experience is required for effective therapy.

We collaborate as a multidisciplinary team to provide the most appropriate care for people with spine conditions.

The first step is to identify the cause of your pain condition as accurately as possible from the various symptoms, types of pain and diagnostic tests. This is the prerequisite for a promising therapy concept.

Advanced treatmens

In the case of acute back pain and slight neurological deficits (sensitivity disorders), there are many arguments against grasping the scalpel too quickly. Many pathological causes of back pain can nowadays be treated conservatively. This is successful in 70 to 80 percent of all patients.

If the conservative treatment options have been exhausted or if there are findings in the spine that urgently require surgical intervention (tumor, infection, fractures, instabilities, significant axial shifts), we offer a wide range of surgical techniques - from minimally invasive and microsurgical interventions to complex reconstructions of the spine.

Multidisciplinary team approach

If the changes in the spinal column require major surgery or even the replacement of several vertebral bodies, the interdisciplinarity of the clinic comes into effect. The bundled surgical expertise and the general conditions make it possible  to treat diseases of the spinal column, spinal cord and peripheral nervous system from the transition from the skull to the cervical spine to the sacrum and coccyx.

Together we develop an individually tailored treatment plan. Our general aim is to avoid surgical procedures. However, whenever it is necessary and promising, we explain your options and the advantages and disadvantages in plain language and give you a realistic expectation. Possible risks must be carefully considered in each case. The risk-benefit balance must always be clearly in favour of the "benefit".

High-precision instruments and implants, gentle anaesthetic procedures and surgical techniques as well as a specially trained team of physiotherapists help to ensure that even elderly patients get back on track quickly. The focus is always on alliviating pain and maintaining mobility as best as possible.
