Cataracts are a primarily age-related clouding of the lens, which causes vision to steadily decrease until possible blindness. Cataract surgery can successfully eliminate these symptoms. The chances of recovery are very good.
For this purpose, we use all the possibilities of modern cataract surgery in our cataract centre and employ high-precision diagnostics and measuring methods as well as the latest surgical technology. Patients with congenital or infantile cataract, cataracts after injury or refractive corneal surgery or in combination with retinal, corneal or glaucoma surgery benefit in a special way from the special expertise of our eye clinic.

Cataract Surgery
The procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis and under local anesthesia. For patients with severe general diseases or diseases of the eye, which represent an increased risk of surgery, we also perform the operation as an in-patient.
This is done by making small incisions in the cornea to open the lens sheath and remove the clouded lens. We then implant the artificial lens into the lens sheath.
Please note that you are not allowed to drive your own car on this day. Ideally you should be picked up after the operation.
