Therapy options for head and neck tumours

Therapy options for head and neck tumours

Every cancer disease is different and requires an individual treatment concept. For tumours in the head and neck area, a wide range of treatment options are available today.

The therapy of choice for localized tumors in the head and neck area is the sole operation or radiotherapy.

If the disease is more advanced, the operation can be supplemented by radiotherapy or medicinal chemotherapy or combined radiochemotherapy or radioimmunotherapy. The aim of immunotherapy is to use special drugs to activate the body's own immune system so that it is able to fight the tumor.

Interdisciplinary tumor conference

Every patient at our cancer center is presented in an interdisciplinary head and neck tumor conference. Here, experts from various disciplines discuss each case, share their experience and recommend a therapy. The team of experts is made up of specialized ENT and oral and maxillofacial surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, radiologists, pathologists and other specialists. We will then inform you of the therapy recommendation in a detailed discussion and determine the treatment plan together with you.
