Not much would go without them: We stand and move on our feet for around 57 percent of our life. As a result, foot complaints or complaints in the region of our body above can occur.

Our feet perform hard work every day.  With their 26 bones, 32 joints, more than 30 muscle groups and more than 100 tendons and ligaments, they are one of our most complex locomotor Organs.

Sometimes it is only small operations on feet and toes that lead to an improvement of complaints and better function. But also in cases of severe foot injuries, congenital or acquired malformations and the consequences of accidents, we are at your side with many years of experience and all the possibilities of modern foot surgery.

Our main areas of focus:

  • the correction of cogenital and acquired malformations and malpositions including bone diseases of the toes, forefoot, midfoot and hintfood as well as the upper and lower ankle Joint
  • the treatment of tendon and muscle diseases
  • the treatment of diabetic foot syndrome

Comprehensive diagnostics

  • Standard x-rays of the foot and ankle including special images (e.g. Saltzman rear foot x-ray)
  • Dynamic X-ray examination under image intensifier, with diagnostic and therapeutic joint infiltrations if necessary
  • State-of-the-art slice image diagnostics with computer tomography (multi-slice) or magnetic resonance imaging (3 Tesla)

For your individual treatment and differentiated care, we have all the modern therapy and surgical procedures available:

Non-operative (conservative) therapy approaches

  • Consulting for shoe and insole supply
  • Intensive physiotherapy, lymph drainage and physical therapy
  • Intensified pain therapy in cooperation with the clinic for pain therapy

Operative therapy approaches

  • Differentiated and individual therapy concept for hallux valgus (bunion)
  • Corrections of hammer toe, claw toe and other toe malpositions
  • Joint preserving and stabilizing operations of the metatarsophalangeal joint of the big toe
  • Arthroscopy of the ankle joint (so-called arthroscopy) in case of degenerative diseases such as rheumatism, arthrosis etc. or after accidents
  • Joint preserving and stabilizing operations of all other joints of the foot and ankle
  • Pressure-relieving surgery for rear and/or lower heel spur
  • Differentiated therapy concept for midfoot pain (metatarsalgia, Morton's neuralgia)
  • Corrective surgery for congenital or acquired deformities such as flat foot, clubfoot, pointed foot or hollow foot
  • Corrective surgery of accident-related consequential damage to foot and ankle

Diabetes: danger for the feet

The diabetic foot syndrome is one of the most severe secondary diseases of diabetes mellitus. Many diabetics suffer from a disturbance of the blood circulation and nerve supply of the feet in addition to their diabetes mellitus. As part of the Diabetic Foot Center, the restoration and maintenance of your mobility is the goal that we pursue in close cooperation with diabetologists, angiologists, plastic surgeons and wound managers at our hospital.
