In the Devision of Neurogastroenterology we deal with functional disorders of the digestive tract caused by nerves.

You have irritable bowel, irritable stomach, functional constipation, diarrhoea, flatulence or unclear chest or abdominal pain? Our Division of Neurogastroenterology is well-known all over Germany, over 60 percent of our patients come from far away.

By means of suitable functional examinations, the functional disorders – often motility and nutritional disorders – can be recorded and treated.

  • High resolution oesophageal manometry
  • Long-term pH-metry impedance measurement of the oesophagus and stomach
  • Oropharyngeal functional examinations
  • Ano-rectal manometry
  • Small bowel manometry
  • Anal surface EMG
  • Bernstein test, the defaecography (in cooperation with the radiological clinic)
  • Hinton test (in cooperation with the radiological clinic)
  • Biofeedback Training
  • 13C-breath test for the detection of Helicobacter pylori, to determine liver function, gastric emptying and pancreas function
  • Hydrogen breath tests for transit examination, determination of sugar absorption disorders, non-specific carbohydrate malabsorption and bacterial colonisation of the small intestine
