1961-62 
- Opening of the Urological Clinic – 1 August 1961
- Patients admitted to Ward 25 – 8 August 1961
- Patients admitted to Ward 11 – from October 1961 
- Development of the urological out-patient unit
- Up to the end of 1961: 185 in-patients and 154 out-patients as well as 96
  surgical procedures; a total of 31 beds by the end of 1961; 50 beds by the

- Enlargement of the operating theatre and extension of Ward 25 
- Afternoon consulting hours
- Work on the development of “Artificial Kidney” Aue I
 
1964 
- Handover of the “Artificial Kidney” (Moeller type) on 1 January 1964 modified by the Scheibner company, Bernsbach; this marks 
  the commencement of dialysis in Aue and was the first dialysis performed in Saxony
- Performance of dialysis using the Scribner shunt method
 
1965 
- Further development of “Artificial Kidney” Aue I
 
1966 
- Relocation to Ward 14 (two dialysis places there)
- Opening of Ward 13, creating a total of 83 beds
- Introduction of the Cimino-Fistel method and expansion of indications for dialysis 
 
1967 
- Development of “Artificial Kidney” Aue II
- Rudolph Virchow Prize awarded to Dr. Kaden
 
1968 
- Start of animal experiments on the subject of obstruction of the upper urinary tract  
 
1969 
- Name of the Urological Clinic changed to “Klinik für Nephro-Urology” (Clinic for Nephro- Urology)
- Start of nephrological consulting hours 
- First radical cystectomy and prostatectomy
 
1970 
- Urological outpatient clinic an independent department of a polyclinic as of 1 September 1970
- Opening of Ward 7 as a urological observation ward 
 
1971 
- Opening of the new Aue Dialysis Centre on 31 March 1971 following extension and upgrading of Ward 25
- First donor kidney extraction in Aue on 31 March 1971
 

1972 
- Dr. Kaden becomes President of the Society for Urology of the GDR (1972-1976)
- First retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy in the case of a testicular tumour 
- Integration of the Scheibner company, Bernsbach, into VEB Messgerätewerk Zwönitz

- Introduction of the new “Artificial Kidney Aue” KNA 301 (disposable coil dialyser from Radeberg)
- GDR Dialysis Nurses Conference in Hartenstein

- International Conference on “Dialysis and Transplantation” in Aue
- Introduction of paediatric urological consulting hours with paediatricians

- GDR Urology Congress from 8-12 June 1976 under the chairmanship of Dr. Kaden in Karl-Marx-Stadt 
- Introduction of “Artificial Kidney Aue” KNA 302 (with hollow fibre dialyser from VEB Keradenta Radeberg)

- Introduction of cryotherapy
- Establishment of a urodynamic measuring system

- First haemoperfusion

- 1st Conference in the specialist field of Urology for nurses chaired by Dr. Kaden in Karl-Marx-Stadt

- Transition to organ donation using en bloc extraction and in-situ perfusion 
- Introduction of Teflon injections in cases of urinary incontinence

- Introduction of “Artificial Kidney Aue” KN 401
- 1st residential training course for senior nurses in the specialist field of Urology (Lichtenwalde)

- First plasmapheresis in Saxony on 2 December 1983
- 2nd residential training course for senior nurses in the specialist field of Urology (Lichtenwalde)

1984 
- Handover of the 1st endourological imaging system “Urolix-3” on 28 May 1984 (joint project between the GDR and Hungary)
- First percutaneous nephrostomy on 5 July 1984

- First percutaneous litholapaxy on 25 April 1985

- First ureterorenoscopy on 16 December 1986

- First available ultrasound device
