Urinary Incontinence

Urinary Incontinence — the loss of bladder control — is a common and often embarrassing problem. Because nobody likes to talk about the disease, many suffer in silence. However, those affected should not hesitate to seek medical advice, as bladder voiding disorders are nowadays easy to treat.

The causes of incontinence are manifold: While a constant urge to urinate in men is usually a symptom of benign prostate syndrome (BPH), in women several births often lead to changes in the pelvic floor. But incontinence can also be caused by hereditary predispositions, operations, side effects of medication and radiation, and even neurological disorders.

The diagnosis

To determine the cause, we carry out a special urological examination in addition to a thorough general examination. The most important procedures used are bladder pressure measurement (urodynamics) and imaging procedures such as ultrasound or X-ray. If necessary, we will discuss with you the necessity of a cystoscopy.
