Radiotherapy

In radiotherapy, the tumour or its metastases are combated by means of targeted radiation.

Radiotherapy measures are an established part of neuro-oncological tumour therapy. The treatment can be used as a supplement or alternative to surgical tumour therapy. We discuss the optimal treatment path for each patient individually, based on the current guidelines and recommendations for action, in the weekly tumour board.

Conventional radiotherapy involves the treatment of circumscribed areas of the brain or spinal cord, or in some cases the entire brain. Depending on the patient's initial situation, radiation therapy can be combined with another form of therapy (e.g. radio-chemotherapy).
