Radiotherapy for lung cancer

In radiotherapy, we can use particularly precise radiation techniques. Depending on the patient's initial situation, radiotherapy is combined with another form of therapy. Radiation therapy is usually used in combination with chemotherapy.

Irradiation from outside - percutaneous radiotherapy

With the help of modern techniques, we can irradiate lung tumors much more accurately and precisely than just a few years ago. A linear accelerator of the latest generation is available for stereotactic radiotherapy. The device allows field adjustment accurate to the millimeter in order to irradiate the tumor with pinpoint accuracy from several spatial directions.

Protecting healthy tissue

By using appropriate planning programs, we calculate the optimal radiation dose for each patient. The ultimate goal is to maximize the success of the treatment while protecting the surrounding tissue as much as possible.

Radio-Chemotherapy

In the case of extensive lymph node metastases, we use a so-called multimodal treatment - i.e. a simultaneous treatment with chemotherapy and radiotherapy. With this method, good treatment results can usually be achieved.
