Drug therapies for blood disorders and cancer have made impressive progress in recent years. We offer you a treatment with effective procedures that is individually tailored to you and your illness.
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy represents the classic cancer therapy. Here, cytostatics are administered which influence cell growth and / or cell division. We carry out most cytostatic therapies (about 90 percent) on an outpatient basis as infusions or via a catheter system (port). For some time now, some cytostatic drugs have also been available in tablet form.
Immunotherapy
In contrast to classical chemotherapy, immunotherapeutic drugs do not have a direct effect on the cancer cell. They rather activate the body's own immune system to recognize the cancer cell as defective and fight it. These novel drugs are also known as immune checkpoint inhibitors and have recently become therapeutically available for various tumour diseases. At present they are administered as infusions.
Targeted therapies
So-called targeted drugs trigger cell death by blocking certain metabolic processes in the malignant cells and thus halting tumour growth. Since they only affect the cancer cell, they are known as targeted therapies or signaling pathway inhibitors.
