In the Lower Rhine region, our clinic offers the broadest spectrum in minimally invasive surgery. Whenever an operation of the abdominal cavity becomes necessary, it is not only a matter of course for us to achieve maximum healing success, but also to perform the operation as gently as possible for you.
Advantages of minimally invasive surgery
With small incisions, the immune system is less weakened due to less blood loss, adhesions occur less frequently and wound healing is accelerated. In addition you have less pain, can go home earlier and recover faster. Because you do not have to stay in bed for long, the risk of thrombosis is also significantly reduced.
Indications for mini incisions
The removal of the gall bladder, appendix and adrenal glands as well as the treatment of inguinal hernias and heartburn is performed by us by keyhole surgery as standard. Due to the specialization of our entire medical and surgical team, we also perform the vast majority of colon and partial rectal removals in a minimally invasive manner. We also often treat tumours of the pancreas or oesophagus minimally invasively.
For each procedure, we critically examine whether the intervention is suitable for the keyhole procedure under the given circumstances.
Gradual training
In order to be able to perform such operations, we ensure a good and gradual training for our surgeons. For this purpose we regularly practice on special training areas and models. We also conduct workshops for external surgeons and OR teams.
We would be happy to discuss the possibilities of a minimally invasive surgical technique with you in a personal consultation, and whether this is a suitable option for you.
