Raynaud Syndrome

Raynaud Syndrome

Raynaud's phenomenon is the pale or bluish discoloration of the fingers in cold weather. Raynaud's syndrome in itself is not a disease. Often the symptoms are caused by another disease.

Possible diseases as a cause

If bluish or white discoloured fingers appear for the first time in women over 40 years of age, they can be the result of a rheumatic disease. Injuries that lead to occlusion of the hand or finger arteries play a major role in the case of men who work in crafts.
Of course, both clinical pictures also exist in the respective opposite sex. But other causal diseases such as hypothyroidism, side effects of medication or vascular embolism must also be taken into consideration.

Special examination procedures and therapy

In addition to laboratory diagnostics, we offer capillary microscopy, duplex sonography and finger pressure measurement. Precise diagnostic clarification is important, as this is the only way to initiate a therapy tailored to your individual needs.
After the reliable diagnosis, we will carefully coordinate the necessary treatment with you.
