You and your child in safe hands

You and your child in safe hands

As a perinatal centre of the highest level of care, we are allowed to deliver and treat the smallest of the premature babies.

Our perinatal centre offers special medical care for high-risk pregnancies and premature births: specialists from the fields of prenatal medicine, obstetrics, newborn and neonatology and paediatric surgery are at your disposal around the clock.

For further questions we work hand in hand with specialists in paediatric radiology, paediatric cardiology, neuropaediatrics, paediatric orthopaedics, paediatric neurosurgery, ear, nose and throat medicine, paedaudiology and the eye clinic.

Neonatal intensive care unit

In the neonatal intensive care unit, we look after babies with deformities, multiple births and premature babies. Our "Ward A2A2" is directly connected to the obstetrics department and has its own directly connected operating theatre. For the care of premature babies with low birth weight and children with congenital malformations, 15 intensive care units are available.

Development-promoting care

Specially trained and experienced specialist paediatric nurses will look after you and your child. A particular focus of care is on care that promotes development. In our overall concept for the care of premature babies and sick newborns, we put special emphasis on gentle care, taking into account all the senses in a pleasant environment. Extensive body contact is important

For you as parents, the so-called kangarooing is the best way to experience your child, to protect it and to support it in its development. For several hours, the child, dressed only in a nappy, is placed on the bare chest of its mother or father, where it can enjoy the body warmth and hear the heartbeat familiar to it from the womb. The extensive physical contact has a positive effect on the healthy physical and mental development of your child.

Admission of an accompanying parent

Babies who require special care are cared for in our monitoring ward. It has 20 beds, and it is of course possible for a parent to accompany the baby. Our rooms are equipped with comfortable armchairs and a private bathroom.

Birth planning for risk pregnancies

As a Level 1 perinatal centre, we have all the facilities to competently and closely monitor pregnancies with an increased risk and to provide optimum care for prematurely or sickly born children according to the latest medical findings.

Please inform us already with the registration about:

  • twin or multiple pregnancy
  • high blood pressure
  • diabetes
  • any other previous physical or mental illness
  • a prenatal abnormality or growth disorder in your child

During the course of a high-risk pregnancy, your gynaecologist will advise you on the best time to come to our clinic for birth planning. Please bring all the important documents for birth planning.
